Fracturing is an original mezzotint by artist Rhianna Catt, created through one of the most intricate and labour-intensive printmaking processes, Mezzotint. This evocative piece features a delicate lily, suspended in a dark, velvety background, with a single petal drifting away towards the bottom of the page. The result is a soft, hazy composition that captures a powerful moment of quiet loss and transformation.

Like its companion piece Refraction, Fracturing draws from deeply personal themes, exploring the idea of losing a part of oneself to survive, heal, or grow. It reflects the artist’s own journey, symbolising resilience through change — where something lost allows space for something new to emerge.
