Forest Herald is an original mezzotint and embossing by artist Rhianna Catt. The plate itself is cut to the shape of the Beetle, allowing the image to be debossed directly into the paper - adding subtle depth and a sculptural quality to the print.
The horned figure appears both creature and emblem, a messenger of the woodland world, carrying the quiet authority and mystery of the forest. Created as a study in both process and design. Printed in a rich dark olive/green gold ink.
