The Eclipse - Original Hand-Finished Mezzotint and Debossing
The Eclipse is an original mezzotint and embossing which is hand-finished with watercolour by artist Rhianna Catt. The plate itself is cut to the shape of the moth, allowing the image to be debossed directly into the paper, adding subtle depth and a sculptural quality to the print.
The name comes from the collective noun for a group of moths, "an Eclipse".
The prints are hand-finished with watercolour, therefore each one is subtly different and unique. The paper is ripped by hand, therefore the prints may be of slightly different sizes.
